US sees progress in Sudan talks on oil-rich Abyei

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Negotiators for northern and southern Sudan have agreed on a framework for how to run a plebiscite in the disputed oil-rich region of Abyei and should reach a final deal next month, the U.S. State Department said on Tuesday.

Three peacekeepers killed in Darfur attack

KHARTOUM (Reuters) – Armed men killed three Rwandan peacekeepers in Sudan’s Darfur region on Monday in the latest assault on members of the U.N./African Union (UNAMID) force operating in the area, an official from the force said.

Africa: Government to Participate in the African Cultures Festival in Senegal During the Period 15-25 December

Director of the National Theatre, Shams Aldien Younis said, Sudan will participate in the African cultures festival in Senegal during 15- 25 of next December to reflect the cultural diversity of the Sudan. He explained in a statement to Suna that. the technical delegation participating in the African cultural festival comprises all the cultural colors in the country, beside the official representation of the minister and state minister of the ministry of culture. He added that preparations are going on for the participation of Sudan in this festival specially the Sudan is considered as one of the pioneering African countries in the cultural sphere in the continent. SUNA points that the Senegalese president representative has visited the federal minister of culture Samual Khalafallah and handed him a message from the Senegalese president Abdullahi Wad Alsayed MF
