Race to Meeks Park to see Dreamer on the Big Screen July 28

Blairsville, GA (PRWEB) July 27, 2006

Blairsville?s Meeks Park will shine brightly on July 28, as Southern Outdoor Cinema brings the stars of the movie Dreamer to its inflatable screen for Union County?s second free ?Movies in the Park? event this summer.

Last month, Southern Outdoor Cinema lit up Blairsville with its first ?Movies in the Park? screening of the film Madagascar. Now, families and neighbors can watch Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning nurse a badly-injured race horse back to health as they repair their own father-daughter relationship.

Pre-movie activities will begin at 6 p.m., and will include free children?s rides on inflatable moonwalks and slides courtesy of the Yacht Club at the Ridges Resort. Dreamer will begin at dusk. Concessions will be available at the park, or moviegoers can bring a picnic to enjoy in their own chairs or on blankets. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are allowed.

?We had a tremendous crowd at our last free movie in Blairsville,? says Paul Murray, owner of Southern Outdoor Cinema and ?Movies in the Park? organizer. ?The people of Union County joined together in the spirit of community to celebrate the joys of summer. We hope to see you all back at the park on July 28 for another great night.?

This showing of Dreamer is free to the public, thanks to the following local sponsors: Southern Outdoor Cinema, United Community Bank, North Georgia News, Union County Recreation Department, and the Yacht Club at the Ridges Resort.

(Dedicicated To Zulu Chief Shaka)

Hero who surpasses other heroes!
Swallow that disappears in the clouds,
Others disappearing into the heavens!
Son of Menzi!
Viper of Ndaba!
Erect, ready to strike,
It strikes the shields of men!
Father of the cock!
Why did it disappear over the mountains?
It annihilated men!
That is Shaka,
Son of Senzangakhona,
Of whom it is said, Bayede!
You are an elephant!
