Nigerian Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani, to Speak at California Nigerian Forum Event Launch

San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2006

California Nigerian Forum President Professor Steve Ugbah and the Executive Director Ernest Ezeoha today announced that a fundraiser will be held as an official launch of national not-for-profit, California Nigerian Forum (CNF), an organization dedicated to the betterment of relationships with Nigeria and for Nigerians living locally and abroad, on Friday, July 28, at the Emeryville Holiday Inn on 1800 Powell Street at 7 p.m. The President of the Senate, the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Ken Nnamani(http://www.nassnig.org/senate/PrincipalOfficers.htmani) is scheduled to deliver the keynote address, and CNF President Professor Ugbah will give inaugural address.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to host such an esteemed representative from the Nigerian government. Chief Ken Nnamani made his mark in history standing up for democracy. Because of his courage and leadership, Nigeria will forge ahead as a world power. California Nigerian Forum will work to ensure improved relationships between the United States and Nigerians,” said Professor Ugbah.

Chief Nnamani will speak on “Nigeria: Current Events and Prospects for the Future.” Chief Nnamani will offer a blueprint for change in Nigerian politics, drawing heavily from his experiences in the deliberations in the upper legislative house in Nigeria, and the delicate role of the legislature in a budding democracy.

The organization recognizes that as Nigeria’s world influence continues to grow; the importance of improved relationships with Nigeria and its people becomes increasing important. Nigeria has more than 130 million people and accounts for 47 per cent of the West African population. Nigeria is the world’s eighth-largest oil exporter and the United States’ fifth-largest supplier.

(Dedicicated To Zulu Chief Shaka)

Hero who surpasses other heroes!
Swallow that disappears in the clouds,
Others disappearing into the heavens!
Son of Menzi!
Viper of Ndaba!
Erect, ready to strike,
It strikes the shields of men!
Father of the cock!
Why did it disappear over the mountains?
It annihilated men!
That is Shaka,
Son of Senzangakhona,
Of whom it is said, Bayede!
You are an elephant!
